This is a documentary on the Leboku Festival of the Yakurr People celebrated in the month of August by the Yakurrs in a town called Ugep in Cross River State, NIgeria. It is a celebration based on the harvest of yam. The Yakurrs regard yam as the king of crop, so they accord the crop a very important place in their national life. The harvest of the first yam is celebrated with so much pomp and pageantry. This project document the celebration of the festival; the cleansing of the town by the elders, the maiden's dance, the women's dance, as well as the ancient dances of the warriors of the Yakurr are documented. The documentary follow the opening ceremonies and ritual performed by the people, as well as the innovation that have been added to the festival like the beauty pageant, the musical shows, the wrestling match and the showcasing of the farmer with the largest harvest.

I was the producer and writer. I started by researching the festival for the content, and having been sure of the immense content present in the festival. I got across to people living in Ugep who know the locals and can help with arranging the interview of the traditional rulers and the other important people. I prepare a list of the equipment, crew and logistics needed to produce the festival. with this list I prepared a budget and presented to my company and it was vetted. The cash was sourced and I called my crew together. I had a series of meeting with the cameramen, the lighting technician and the audio technician to make them understand the artistic vision of the project.
