Projects

Snowdrift.coop is a new fundraising system dedicated to Free/Libre/Open projects of all sorts. Unlike prior approaches, we focus on ongoing sustainable community patronage. We do this with a many-to-many matching pledge. We also have other tools to help the projects on the site. The whole system will be a non-profit co-op.

I am the main visionary and co-founder of the Snowdrift.coop site. I have volunteered on the project full-time since late 2012. My cofounder did most of the coding, an assistant worked with us on much of the planning. Overall, I am responsible for the bulk of everything on the site and, with guidance from our steering committee, the whole site direction and concept.

Task Coach is a simple open source todo manager to keep track of personal tasks and todo lists. It is designed for composite tasks, and also offers effort tracking, categories, notes and more.

I volunteered to help sort the 700+ feature requests for Task Coach in summer 2012. The developers liked my work enough that I became the third official member of the team. I sorted through all the requests, the hundreds of other bug reports, developed improved documentation, and worked out new feature plans and prioritization for the project. I remain involved with user support and more.

KXStudio is the premier collection of music and audio software for GNU/Linux.

I have been a KXStudio user since early 2012 and got involved in some bug testing, feature requests, and promotion. I helped author the first general documentation guiding beginners to use the system.
