Gitmarks

  • Q: I'd like to participate. How do I begin?

    • 0

Gitmarks needs lots of beta testing, so if you can download the code from https://github.com/FarMcKon/gitmarks_2 . If you want to look at what problems or fixes we need https://github.com/FarMcKon/gitmarks_2/issues is a good place to start.

If you don't know how to download that code, contact me, and I can explain it to you.

      Design a Website

We could use a shiny website for the site.

Design some cool looking flow charts and docs

To make our system work, we need to document it. This would involve talking to some coders, and turning their ideas into visuals that get the idea across on how this project works.

      Help on the mailing list

Our mailing lists are just getting started, and we could use help getting the word out, and having a moderator.

      Research our competitors and cooperators

We need to look at other systems like our, like think.it or SparkleShare, and see how we can cooperation (or how we compete), and figure out who we can work with in what way.

Include URLs if relevant (we'll automatically linkify them).

      • Example:

Someone could improve the photo upload dialog box so that it lets you resize the photo before sending it to the web.

      Building a firefox plugin

I'm not skilled at visual work or things like plugins, and so far the rest of the team isn't either. We could use help getting a plugin created.

      • Examples:

I don't know how to get started with internationalizing my app.

Bug 392 about printing was filed five years ago, and I don't even know if printing still works.

I want help from a C coder writing a Maildir patch for Alpine.

      • Note:

If this issue was formally filed on the web, be sure to include the URL.
