Join the Sugar on a Stick mailing list, http://lists.sugarlabs.org/listinfo/soas, and introduce yourself - who are you and what are you interested in doing/learning? You don't need prior experience or technical expertise; in fact, we love diverse contributors of all kinds, from testers to pedagogical designers to deployment supporters to designers, writers, packagers - and of all ages. All we ask is that you be willing to learn, and to share what you learn along the way with us.

Q: Other than writing code, how can I contribute?

0Packaging for Fedora
If you're a Fedora package maintainer (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers) or interested in becoming one and helping us "adopt" Sugar Activities for deployment via Sugar on a Stick, we could always use help packaging Sugar Activities. See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Sugar_Activities for the list.

0Run a deployment pilot
If you're an adventurous K-8 teacher, or know someone who is, consider being one of our pilot classrooms. Working closely with the SoaS development team, you'll try out experimental software and engage in a dialogue with the community about how to improve things for our next release. The software you try out may work, or it may crash spectacularly, or anywhere in between - it's all part of the fun and the learning experience of how to be a QA engineer and part of an open source community.

About Sugar on a Stick
Sugar on a Stick is a Fedora-based operating system featuring the award-winning Sugar Learning Environment and designed to fit on a USB thumbdrive ("stick"). This makes the Sugar Learning Environment deployable for the cost of a stick rather than a laptop; students can take their Sugar on a Stick thumbdrive to any machine - at school, at home, at a library or community center - and boot their customized computing environment without touching the host machine’s hard disk at all.
