  • Q: I'd like to participate. How do I begin?

      Get to know our workflow. We use a similar workflow to the Linux Kernel: Git-based source code management, patch submission and review via the mailing-list and I would pick it up. The mailing-list is at superkb-devel@lists.sourceforge.net.

      Patch typos.

      Submit them as patches. This will get you to know the workflow with a very low risk of feeling bad for a rejected patch. :-)

      Help us improve the web site.

      The website is very outdated and obsolete. Help is needed to make it as time-agnostic as possible (for example, by moving version-specific documentation to the Wiki, where it is easier to update).

      Documentation is incomplete (and will probably always be). It needs to be improved by editing the Wiki.

      Maintain packages for distributions.

      As of now, Superkb must be compiled most of the times. There are no ready made binary packages. Even those that exist are compilation scripts. It may even be considered difficult to install if the potential user is not used to compile.

      We need to get the package to distributions like Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, Arch (the main distribution), etc. This should help people install it in an easier manner.

      Advocate it.

      Superkb is present pretty much only in Tijuana, even after 5 years of development. We need to make it known by a lot of more people, so the project can get more contributions.

  • Q: What is a bug or issue with Superkb that you've been putting off, neglecting, or just plain avoiding?

      A race-condition with GNOME Settings leads to Superkb to fails to properly start on GNOME session startup.

      I don't have enough resources or knowledge to diagnose it.

        I don't know how to get started with internationalizing my app.

        Bug 392 about printing was filed five years ago, and I don't even know if printing still works.

        I want help from a C coder writing a Maildir patch for Alpine.
