      Hacking

Attempting to exploit the security of the bot, especially after looking over the source code can show us what parts of the authorization system we need emphasize development on.

  • Q: What's a good bug for a newcomer to tackle?

      • Tip:

Many projects have good small tasks that can teach newcomers how the project works. Now's your chance to share one of them!

      • Example:

Someone could improve the photo upload dialog box so that it lets you resize the photo before sending it to the web.

More flexibility in the Announce pattern

Right now you have to have a very specific announce pattern in TuxReminder in order to set an announcement. A more lenient approach, or an alternate, streamlined method of setting up an announcement would be great.

      Authorization Convenience?

      !graph output message

The message given by the bot when someone uses the !graph command, should be editable in the configuration.

      Configurable Command Identifier

The Command Identifies (character before the commands, e.g. !graph, !login) should be editable in the configuration.

      • Examples:

I don't know how to get started with internationalizing my app.

Bug 392 about printing was filed five years ago, and I don't even know if printing still works.

I want help from a C coder writing a Maildir patch for Alpine.

      • Note:

If this issue was formally filed on the web, be sure to include the URL.

About TuxReminder

(logo)

The bot, that does things, that people like. It is nice bot. It knows English, and German for some reason. It can remind you about things, or go all dictatorial and tell you to do things... that other people told you. It also makes nice drawings (connect the dots).
