gDesklets

  • Q: I'd like to participate. How do I begin?

    • 1

Desklets run in a protected sandbox and interact with the outside world through Python classes called "Controls".

If you'd like to develop a desklet, read up on it at http://gdesklets.de/develbook.
If you'd like to be more involved in general, you can join the mailing list (http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gdesklets-list), as most development discussion is done there.
You can grab the source code at https://launchpad.net/gdesklets/0.3x, though it probably isn't necessary unless you need some feature in the core library that hasn't yet been released.

Adding new text to the internationalization and localization databases

I don't know much about this issue and how to make certain strings available for translation. An effort is ongoing at https://translations.launchpad.net/gdesklets.

I don't know how to get started with internationalizing my app.

Bug 392 about printing was filed five years ago, and I don't even know if printing still works.

I want help from a C coder writing a Maildir patch for Alpine.
