      New Graphics

We'd like to replace our 3D graphics (ship, rocks, font) and our banners ("game over" and "variations on rockdodger"). I (Jason) am working on the rocks. Somebody want to make a small, scalable SVG files for the banners?

VoR got booted from debian main because our current graphics are rendered with POVRay which is not quite free software.

make an "easy" (or "practice") mode

The game currently has two difficulty levels, both of which seem to be far too hard for most new players.

The constants near the top of vorconfig.h can be fiddled with to adjust the various aspects of difficulty.

Many projects have good small tasks that can teach newcomers how the project works. Now's your chance to share one of them!

Include URLs if relevant (we'll automatically linkify them).

      • Example:

Someone could improve the photo upload dialog box so that it lets you resize the photo before sending it to the web.

  • Q: What is a bug or issue with vor that you've been putting off, neglecting, or just plain avoiding?

      preferences

It would be nice to have a menu screen that would allow you to toggle the various settings: fullscreen/windowed, music, sound effects, easy/hard. These settings can currently be changed with the keyboard and/or commandline arguments, but are not persistent.

I don't know how to get started with internationalizing my app.

Bug 392 about printing was filed five years ago, and I don't even know if printing still works.

I want help from a C coder writing a Maildir patch for Alpine.

      • Note:

If this issue was formally filed on the web, be sure to include the URL.

VoR is a simple, fast-paced action game that will challenge your reflexes. It has excelent gameplay, great physics, good graphics, and a retro/synthoid thumpy beat to help put you in the mood for old-school 2D gaming.
