Projects

Web and Cloud application development kit, soon coming to accelerated graphic applications on other devices.

Approach is exploring a new way of using old structures to make flow based programming easy, intuitive and powerful. Right now we're focused on web apps in PHP and JavaScript along with our active C++ porting project.

We can use help with documentation, code, code review, usage and building out extensions, mods, addons or components.

Made over the course of the last 15 years, Approach evolved from a corporate intranet toolkit which in turn was originally a scrapped resource manager for C++. After being completely rewritten multiple times for different industries, Approach is the new, open-source version of this project.

We aim to make developers, designers and project managers our target audience so they can focus their goals on innovation and user experience.

Hi, I'm Garet Claborn - I am the original author of Approach and it's predecessors. Starting in 1999, I began noticing a pattern of usage with simple tree structures that pervaded much of computing and had the potential to simplify the lives of many developers.

Today I've had helpful code reviews from the developer teams at over 50 companies I've consulted with. Using this feedback and some contributed logic, I've begun working to bring this out of our proprietary projects into a powerful but ridiculously small open source toolkit for computing.

My aim for Approach is to give a standard set of capabilities to many languages including: C++, PHP, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript (NodeJS). I made sure to leave room for the type handling in each of these languages to provide highly efficient, transparent flow control.

Currently I have finished our prototype using PHP and am porting back to the original C++ model. Some class ports have also been completed in C#, Java and JavaScript.
